Growing in Unity week - day 2

Hello everyone!  I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather.  It looks like here (In Wisconsin) we have one more day of beautiful weather and then the temperatures are going to drop and it is going to rain.  I just hope it is nice for the weekend.  Hubby and I are taking our 2nd annual anniversary weekend and I am hoping to see some beautiful fall splendor since it is suppose to be peak weekend for all the glorious colors in the Baraboo area.  A nice walk through the woods would be ideal!

In celebration of the beautiful fall weather I created this card:

First I created the focal piece of the card.  I took a piece of photo paper (4x6) and stamped the leaf shapes (some stamps I received from one of the super amazing grab bags that Unity offered a short while ago) randomly around the card using a Momento ink pad.  I then used ranger alcohol inks to add the colors.  A few drops of Red Pepper, Sunset Orange, and Sunshine Yellow on the felt pad and some random rubbing on my photo paper resulted in some beautiful effects.  Just a bit of black ink along the edges to help the paper blend into the card base and this element was done.

I then stamped the sentiment around the leaf from the Something Within Unity set.

I then took my black card base and I used my score board to create the score lines around the front of the card.  I placed the card  in the top left corner of my martha stewart score board and then scored from 1/4" over and down - down to about 1/4" before the edge.  I did this all the way around the card front creating a square.

A simple cream colored paper for the inside (trying to write a note on black is a bit difficult ;) ) with a bit of black edging and another stamp of the leaf.  For this image I used the Sunset Orange alcohol ink and added it directly to the rubber stamp.  Just touch the tip to the rubber and it comes out in the perfect amount - no need to squeeze the bottle.  I stamped the leaf image directly onto the cream colored paper.  Then I used the Momento black ink pad to stamp the image atop the Orange.

A little touch of ribbon and voila.  Another simple card but I LOVE how it turned out.
